Advising Quilter on Culture
Quilter Partner with Jez Rose for culture change success
Jez has worked with Old Mutual Wealth, now Quilter, for almost exactly 9 years.
When the board and senior executives recently began discussing the topic of culture change, Jez received a ‘phone call to ask if he might be able to help.
Over the last 10 to 15 years Jez has worked with almost all of the Fortune 500, and advised most of the Fortune 100. His ability to help organisations understand human behaviour, showing how to create long-lasting, positive behaviour changes is considered by many, unrivalled.
Quilter’s executive team understand how important the right culture is in order to achieve a strategic commercial vision. Culture is the framework that helps support and enhance our behaviours. It’s also a dynamic and fluid thing: it is simply not possible to establish a corporate vision, or values, and then move on. Cultural values evolve in the same way roles and individuals do within an organisation, and need regular review both to challenge and to embed into everyday behaviours.
It’s essential, however, that you get it right.
The brief Jez was presented with was simple: teach 25 HR business partners and associates, in 2 days, what culture change is, how to achieve it, and what they need to do to create a successful culture change programme. Simple, perhaps - but not easy!
Jez delivered a bespoke 2 day training workshop on-site covering the essentials of behaviour change in relation to culture change programmes; the most common pitfalls and failures when launching new cultures, and workshopping how best to implement strategies within Quilter. It was an intense but hugely rewarding 2 days.
The results of the pre- and post-workshop surveys showed great results following the training session:
A 300% increase in the belief that they had sufficient skills to competently deliver culture change within Quilter.
A 100% improvement in their confidence in their ability to deliver culture change within Quilter.
Quilter’s HR Director, Penny Cole, said: “The team have absolutely loved it, and the energy you’ve created and mobilised in the team is brilliant.”
